Pixel phones to be made in India
Tech giant Google will soon start making its own Pixel smartphones in India. Google has also signed an agreement with Foxconn for this purpose. News BBC.
According to the news, Google will make the Pixel phone in Foxconn's factory located in Tamil Nadu, southern part of India.
It said that due to geopolitical tensions with China, India has emerged as a major destination for global companies, especially companies from the Western world, seeking to diversify their supply chain by avoiding the country. Following this, Google has also chosen India to manufacture its Pixel phones.
Alphabet's Google will make an improved version of the Pixel smartphone in Tamil Nadu, and production could begin this year, sources told the BBC on Friday (May 24).
Google and Foxconn have signed an agreement to this end, the source said.
Currently, Foxconn has two factories in Tamil Nadu. It also assembles Apple's iPhones at its factory near Chennai.
